Twin Support Disc Option On standard membrane housings the PTFE membrane is supported by a sintered, porous stainless steel disc on the outlet side. If the flow is reversed during normal operation there is a chance that the PTFE membrane can be damaged.
The Disc Filter utilizes replaceable Zitex filter elements which form a continuous mat of PTFE fibers. These fibers are fused together to form a screen like membrane structure. The resultant membrane is hydrophobic, hence aqueous suspensions must be filtered at high rates to overcome surface tension.
